EDITORS ON THE HUNT
SOUTHWEST CONTEMPORARY MAGAZINE IS LOOKING FOR PITCHES FOR VOL. 14:
Southwest Contemporary is an independent arts magazine centered on contemporary art and culture. They are currently accepting pitches for Vol. 14: Alien, their Fall–Winter 2026–27 print issue, and are seeking writers based in or connected to the North American Southwest.
Accepted formats include studio visits/artist profiles (800 words); reporting, features, cultural criticism, and interviews (1,200–2,000 words); creative essays (400–700 words); travel writing (1,200–1,500 words); and reviews (300 words).
Pay ranges from $100 to $500, depending on the article’s length and type. The pitch deadline is May 8.

Lifestyle and Entertainment Editor Lydia Wang at Business Insider is seeking first-person pitches. Topics include creative ways to save money on travel, groceries, or rent; building community in new places or at life stages; the pros and cons of small homes or van life; and exploring the pros and cons of making a major life change.

IN DEVELOPMENT IS LOOKING FOR PITCHES
In Development, a magazine focused on how progress happens in the developing world. They accept long-form articles (2,000–4,000 words) covering unique stories, health needs and updates, policy changes, and data-driven insights. Pitches are accepted year-round and beginning July 1, 2026. Pay is approximately $2,000 per piece.

ROYALTEE MAGAZINE IS LOOKING FORÂ SUBMISSIONSÂ
RoyalTee Magazine is accepting submissions for its Crowned Motherhood Issue, a special series highlighting motherhood journeys and Black maternal wellness. They are seeking personal essays that reflect lived experiences. Topics include pregnancy, postpartum and mental health, maternal health challenges, and self-advocacy.Â
Submissions should be 300–800 words and may include a brief bio and optional photos. Writers may remain hidden.
