Detroit's Big Sean announced on Twitter and will be using TikTok to accept curricula vitae in lieu of traditional résumés.
“Hey, it’s Sean Don and I’m looking for a Creative Innovation intern to work with me and the Detroit Pistons. You know we got the number one draft pick and I’m looking for someone that’s passionate, someone that’s about that basketball culture, somebody who knows music and lifestyle marketing. You can put your resume on TikTok right now so again I am looking. So if you know anybody, if it’s you, come work with me and the Pistons. You know we got the number one draft pick and like I said you could put your resume on TikTok right now so let’s get it,” said Sean in a TikTok video.
As you may or may not have noticed, The Detroit Pistons NBA team’s swag has a fresh, new vibe these days, part of an ongoing marketing refresh that aims to put equal emphasis on both Detroit and Pistons.
The team launched a new Pistons313Shop.com e-commerce site late last year. With the new official merch site came new “313” and “DET” logos. The marks are a part of a new DETail Threads private label — a lifestyle line of off-the-court men’s, women’s, and youth apparel — featuring T-shirts, hoodies, accessories, and drinkware.
Big Sean joined the Pistons as creative director of innovation in December. In his new role, the rapper-entrepreneur will help guide various off-the-court initiatives, such as team merch design and custom line extensions; in-game experience (he’ll curate music for halftime performances and DJ playlists, for example); and community programming through his Sean Anderson Foundation.
Candidates can use the app to upload a TikTok video showcasing their skill set, creativity, and accolades for job openings at a select group of companies on the platform’s new feature. The Pistons are the first NBA squad and professional sports team to use the “TikTok Resumes” feature as they seek someone to assist with marketing and branding.
