Black Stylists Behind Oscar Celebrity Looks

Black Stylists Behind Oscar Celebrity Looks

I can’t be the only one who still gets chills thinking about Regina King's Oscar's pearl pink embroidered Versace dress and acceptance speech last year — or, for that matter, the shimmering silver and black Louis Vuitton gown that she wore for Golden Globes. The stylist duo behind King's glamour with structured pencil fitted gowns is Wayman and Micah, the self-proclaimed “All around Fun lifestyle Connoisseurs”.

This wasn't their only memorable look this year: Wayman and Micah are also behind Tessa Thompson's Green and black Gucci movement for the Television Academy’s 2020 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Jennifer Hudson's sultry pink Dolce Gabbana deep V-neck gown.

Stylist Jason Bolden not only dresses some of Hollywood's biggest names like Cynthia Erivo, Janet Mock, Taraji P. Henson and Michael B. Jordan.

He also stars on Netflix's celebrity styling show Styling Hollywood alongside his life and business partner Adair Curtis; co-runs the multi-disciplinary studio JSN Studio; and was previously the owner of The Garment Room, a vintage store in Manhattan.

Jason Rembert styles for Whoopie Goldberg and Issa Rae.
In addition to being behind all of Beyoncé's ever changing looks and videos, Zerina Akers can also be credited for styling the many looks of sister duo Chloe x Halle and creating the company Black-Owned Everything.
