The way we distribute Stylist magazine has changed. We’ve moved from a weekly frequency to a monthly publication, and we’ve changed where we make copies available to reflect the changes to our working and commuting lives that have happened since the Covid-19 pandemic. Stylist magazine is now published once a month.

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MAGAZINE IS LOOKING FOR SMART PITCHES

Starlight Williams @star_lightw: Friend, pitch me!  Looking for: Smart takes on news moments; Deep dives on fitness trends/how the body works; Interesting history that is relevant today; Explainers on rising health concerns. (bonus points if you can make anime/videogames/supernaturallore *natgeo*) My ideal pitch, in this order, is:  
1. Sample hed/dek. Look at our previous coverage & match our current style 
2. Nut graph: The 5 W's, emphasis on the WHY ARE TELLING THIS STORY NOW (superlatives, global appeal, new take, timely news, etc). 
3. Bio/clips  That's it.
I strongly recommend googling your story topic with at natgeo & read other pubs work on that topic before pitching. Email starlight.williams@natgeo.com (the only place I ever consider pitches). My previous tweets about pitches still apply as well. Pls skim! pitch me cool stuff.

National Geographic still prints the magazine for subscribers, but it stopped selling regular issues on newsstands in the United States in 2023. The magazine is shifting its focus to digital formats and subscriptions.

- ask yourself: why this, and why now? aka: is the idea unique to this piece of media? does it feel urgent?
- don’t just come with questions—i want your answers too!
