Wells Society for Investigative Reporting and the Center for Journalism & Democracy are thrilled to announce the return of the Data Institute, a free two-week intensive, hands-on workshop on using data, design and code for journalism. This year’s program will take place July 7-18 in Atlanta, GA.
The Data Institute welcomes a small cohort of reporters at various stages of their careers — students, journalism educators, and working journalists — who are passionate about learning to tell stories with data.

The MICHELIN Guide is looking for freelance editors/writers based in Tokyo and Seoul. If you have a passion for storytelling and experience crafting engaging food and travel content, I'd love to connect.
What you'll do:
- Pitch, write, and publish articles on a variety of subjects — restaurant recommendations, city guides, chef interviews, etc.
- Assist with video production — coordinating with interviewees, restaurants and/or hotels, conducting on-the-ground interviews, scriptwriting, etc.
- Manage editorial calendars for both English and Japanese/Korean content.
- Work with other members of the editorial team in Asia and Middle East on content sharing best practices, and to produce regional/global features.
