Glamour is Seeking a Commerce Writer to Craft Unique and Compelling Shopping-Focused Content

Condé Nast is seeking a Commerce Writer to craft unique and compelling shopping-focused content for Glamour. The ideal candidate will be passionate about shopping across every category—from style to beauty and health. They will have a strong background in creating shoppable content and should be skilled at positioning a story to both attract an audience and drive purchase while maintaining editorial integrity and authority.
The Commerce Writer will also be comfortable optimizing all our shopping content for both affiliate and SEO, and analyzing traffic and conversion results from past content to make recommendations for future stories, as well as brainstorming new ways to engage our audience around commerce-driven stories on all our digital platforms.
  • Write, pitch, and optimize up to 8 commerce stories (both new and evergreen) each week across categories with an emphasis on style, beauty, health, and lifestyle.
  • Write quick, shoppable news-led posts that speak to a current trend, celebrity moment, sale, etc while maintaining the Glamour brand and voice.
  • Target and cover commerce SEO content gaps across sections with a goal of driving clicks and revenue.
  • Cover commerce sale tentpoles throughout the year with a central focus on SEO (including, but not limited to Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday/Cyber Monday, After-Christmas sales, etc).
  • Conduct in-depth research and interview experts for assigned articles.
  • Collaborate and work closely with Social/Email/Audience Development teams to ideate and execute on new ways to connect shopping on Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Newsletters.
  • Work with Commerce Editor to pull weekly/monthly story level, retailer, and product data to identify and plan around editorial categories and seasonal tentpoles that present a commerce opportunity for Glamour, studying purchasing data, tracking site analytics, researching trends, and performing competitive analysis of comparable sites
  • Identify new shopping categories and trending products Glamour should report on. This writer should have their finger on the pulse of what consumers are interested in before other publications cover
  • Alongside the Commerce team, serve as commerce evangelist for the Glamour editorial team, supporting in research and optimization of all shoppable content
  • Drive a clear editorial point of view for product and shopping recommendations appealing to the Glamour reader
  • Other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate must have product & shopping editorial expertise and a strong enthusiasm for helping define the content-to-commerce strategy at Glamour.
  • A minimum of 2 years writing commerce/affiliate content at a digital property, as well as refining commerce best practices
  • Solid knowledge of SEO tactics to attract a buying audience
  • Experience analyzing performance across different verticals, product categories, retailers, and affiliate networks to optimize content for revenue generation, as well as pitch stories with strategic commerce opportunities
  • Experience in managing product sourcing logistics at a digital property (either editorial or commerce)
  • Strong organizational skills, polished communication skills, and ability to work against tight deadlines
  • A self-starter who relishes the opportunity to directly accelerate the growth of Condé Nast’s commerce business
