The Senior Media Writer position focuses heavily on breaking news, analysis and enterprise reporting on the largest media companies. The ideal candidate will have deep connections and sourcing with top leaders and other key industry executives working in streaming, television, film and digital, and have a track record of breaking exclusive business news. The candidate must be a strong team player who can be collaborative with a range of other reporters and editors and is able to produce a high volume of online stories under deadline pressure, as well as write cover stories and other major features for Variety’s weekly magazine.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a hard news reporter
• Experience in delivering exclusive breaking news stories on the business of media and entertainment
• Experience writing in-depth, long-form and long-lead features.
• Established relationships and a high profile with top CEOs and industry leaders
