London Pop Star, Bree Runway Covers Paper Magazine Reminiscent of Missy Elliott
Born Brenda Wireko Mensah, the London-raised chameleon is poised to rocket to the top of the pop stratosphere. Even with the world’s slowdown in 2020, Bree has spent the past year expanding on her already-fortified artistic foundations.
Part of this journey has included refuting any genre-binding labels the media tries to put on her. She’s not a rapper OR a singer. She’s a pop star.
“A pop star is someone who can touch on any genre,” she tells PAPER. “A pop star is anyone who can bend, morph, and twist into anything they want at any time. That’s a pop star. It’s beyond the music, it’s a lifestyle.”\
In her first US cover story, the superstar discusses taking the Runway name international, being her own competition and staying true to who she is. Read the full interview at Paper.com and here.
