JCPenney Dressed Me for NYFW. Here’s What I Wore

At New York Fashion Week, getting dressed is part of the assignment. JCPenney stepped in to dress me for the work.

I was not preparing for one front row or one photograph. My schedule moved between teaching, reporting, interviews, backstage access and conversations that could turn into the next story. I needed clothes that could hold up through all of it and still feel like me.

JCPenney at My Stylists Suite Masterclass

My first look had a serious job to do. I wore it to City College for my Stylists Suite masterclass, where I would be teaching, networking and connecting with students.

I paired the Ashley Graham Collection Plus Strapless Denim Top with the matching Ashley Graham Collection Plus Denim Trouser, then added a Liz Claiborne Faux Leather Midweight Cropped Jacket.

The matching denim gave me a clean, polished base. The cropped jacket added structure and just enough edge. More importantly, the look let me move through the room with confidence and focus on the work in front of me.

Worthington at the Public Parts Show

By day three, I was back out covering shows in JCPenney again. This time, I wore Worthington High Rise Balloon Pants with a Worthington Halter Neck Sleeveless Blouse.

That look took me straight to the front row at Public Parts. The runway clothes were the focus, but mine still needed to feel intentional enough for NYFW while letting me do my job.

Why the Partnership Worked

Fashion Week is not one outfit, one show or one location. It is early mornings, masterclasses, interviews, backstage moments, front rows and plenty of walking in between. A look can photograph beautifully and still fail the day. These did not.

JCPenney gave me options that felt polished, current and ready for the real schedule behind NYFW. The pieces moved with my work instead of asking the work to accommodate them.

And yes, I looked good doing all of it.
