Daric L. Cottingham, Black Joy Social Reporter of Reckon
Daric L. Cottingham is a 26-year-old culture and entertainment journalist from the small country town of Ruston, Louisiana. He grew up in Dallas, TX, surrounded by streetwear, sneaker, and hip-hop culture. This environment fueled his interests; he grew up being called "a walking encyclopedia of pop culture" because of all the "fun facts" he knows, which led to his passion for entertainment news.
In 2019 Daric received his Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication with a minor in Art from the "second-oldest public institution of higher education in the state of Texas," Prairie View A&M University. In 2021, he earned his Master's degree in Sports and Entertainment Journalism from USC Annenberg School for Journalism and Communication.
