Meet Teen Vogue's New Editorial Assistant,  Aiyana N. Ishmael

So incredibly excited to say today is my first day at @teenvogue as their editorial assistant. I’ve always admired the impact and work Teen Vogue does and I’m grateful to now be a part of the team. Here’s to this next journey!

Aiyana Ishmael is a recent graduate of Florida A&M University where she served as the editor-in-chief of FAMU’s student magazine Journey. The 22-year-old has written for Teen Vogue, Essence, Poynter andRefinery29 and in her spare time hosts and produces her podcast, Black Fat Fashion. Her email is:

As a journalist, she wants to ignite conversations that create change through storytelling. The Miami native is a creative and dependable leader who regularly engages in community and campus service projects. Ishmael graduated college in April of 2021 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and is an avid reader, former athlete and recovering theatre kid.
