Black Owned Businesses At Detroit's Eastern Market: Amazing Apparel Two

Who doesn't love a new cute outfit at an amazingly cute deal? Let me introduce you to Patricia Johnson, owner of Amazing Apparel Two, a one-stop shop of women's wear and accessories with sizes from small to 3X. For women who love designer fashions and up-to-date trends like sequin 2-piece pants suits to fox fur jackets, Amazing Apparel Two has the look for you.

I may sound like a TV commercial but what can you say about genuinely good people except that they take customer service to the next level. In Shed #5 every Saturday morning and afternoon, Patricia Johnson lines her clothing racks with some of the most fabulous fur jackets, fitted dresses and sequins pants suit that are trending all over Instagram and Tik Tok. And can she work a deal, just for you

"If I were to dress one dream celebrity, it would be Nia Long, she has a certain class and elegance about her that would make her the ideal client," says Johnson. "Plus I know that I have things that she likes because of how I've seen her dress in the past. My clothing would be perfect for her. I know my clients."

It hardly bears repeating that the challenges facing Detroit fashion retailers and designers are numerous – not least for those that don't have the right connections, both prejudges and lack of resources has caused many to give up. But not Patricia Johnson of Amazing Apparel Two who recently had to close her brick and mortar store and found a home at the Eastern Market. Every day you have to be resourceful and inventive.

"I have experience what I thought was prejudges when dealing some manufacturers; they'd price something higher than the person before me or sometimes they don't want to share information," believes Johnson. "Some will have unreasonable requirement that aren't required of there's so finding the right manufacturers and forming the right partnerships with people that want to see you grow is important. It's most important."
