Bon Appétit and Epicurious Are Hiring Associate Editor

Bon Appétit and Epicurious are hiring an associate editor to write and edit articles, recipe galleries, and recipe headnotes; identify opportunities for content; and help execute on long-term SEO-focused projects for both Bon Appétit and Epicurious. In this position, the associate will work closely with the SEO Editor to execute and help manage refreshes and new search-focused content by writing, editing, and trafficking the flow of stories. This role reports into the editorial team and will work closely with the SEO and audience development teams.

Responsibilities:

Write and edit new recipe galleries, recipe headnotes, and digital articles related to cooking and recipes
Write and edit refreshes to existing recipe galleries, recipe headnotes, and digital articles related to cooking and recipes
Work with the SEO Editor and in partnership with SEO team and audience development to execute on SEO strategies
Execute on strategy set by the SEO Editor and brand audience development team
Pitch search-optimized story ideas, identify opportunities for packaging recipes and other content, and, as necessary, attend content planning meetings
Assist in managing long-term SEO initiatives across Bon Appétit and Epicurious

Qualifications

3-5 years relevant experience working in food media
3-5 years writing and/or editing experience, including ability to write and edit engaging, clean, search-optimized copy
Knowledge and experience working with SEO, including best practices for evergreen search and familiarity with search engine algorithms and industry-leading SEO tools
Experience working on or closely with editorial teams
Interest in and ability to work within a collaborative environment in a cross-team function
Experience with recipes and cooking a plus
