People’s Movies Section Looking For Staff Writer
The Staff Writer for People’s movies section is an excellent writer, interviewer and self-starter, responsible for negotiating and conducting interviews with top entertainment talent; and pitching, reporting and writing multiple news and feature stories each week across People’s various platforms, most notably for the magazine. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic team player overflowing with movie knowledge and ideas who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is adept at storytelling in print and other platforms and has deep contacts in the entertainment industry.
The Staff Writer will be expected to regularly write features on deadline for the weekly magazine, negotiate for interviews with entertainment talent and turn those interviews into compelling stories, write shorter news items for the front-of-book Scoop section, report on breaking news and write news stories for digital platforms in the very busy movies vertical.
