Recap of Fashion Bomb Daily's Premiere NYFW Show

It’s Our Favorite Time of Year – New York Fashion Week

by Jacqueline Jenkins, NY Correspondent

While the New York streets are always a mosaic of style, this New York Fashion Week was all about celebrity sightings, the magical transformation of brownstone stoops and city parks into catwalks, and captivating presentations of designers to watch.  Bravo, the excitement of in-person shows has returned.

Fashion Bomb Daily hosted its premier show during New York Fashion Week. With a line wrapped around the block of the Sixth Floor Loft, a swanky Union Square venue, the two shows drew a chic audience of influencers, fashion aficionados, and emerging designers.  As one lucky to be in the room, I was amazed by the ongoing chatter of excitement from the audience that included industry icons like style guru Ty Hunter, TV personality Cynthia Bailey, and singer Sevyn StreeterOyemwen, an Atlanta-based designer, made heads turn with her reimagining of classic looks in lively colors that I playfully named passion pink, sun-kissed orange, and royal emerald.

Oyemwen shared these thoughts about her line inspiration, “Because we’ve been living with the dullness of Covid life, I selected vibrant colors to represent our new beginning.”

While the shows are great a time to mingle with fashion insiders and see what’s next for the season, a key reason for designers to show their creations is to generate sales.  Kojenwa Moitt, CEO, Zebra Public Relations LLC., commented, “No sales, no business.  Claire Sulmers, the founder of Fashion Bomb Daily, created a shop to sell amazing brands, and the show is the PR for the brands featured on the site.  This event is a way to thank the Fashion Bomb Daily vendors and customers.”  The shows are also a good opportunity to gauge market interest from the audience’s applause.

See you at the next Fashion Week.
