Allure is Seeking an Associate Commerce Editor With a Strong Voice And Organizational Skills to Join Fast-Growing Commerce Team


Condé Nast is seeking an Associate Commerce Editor with a strong voice and organizational skills to join our fast-growing commerce team and create smart, authentic shopping stories for Allure. This role requires an in-depth understanding of the e-commerce landscape, an interest in creating engaging-service driven content that drives Commerce KPIs, and experience writing about products in the beauty and wellness categories.


  • Write and edit 7-10 pieces of commerce content each week, ensuring copy is clean, brand guidelines are met, and SEO and affiliate best practices are implemented
  • Optimize commerce content across teams and platforms, identifying commerce opportunities and implementing market best practices for a myriad of projects and initiatives
  • Assist in managing a long-term commerce editorial calendar to feature ongoing, SEO, and seasonal shopping content
  • Assign out and edit in-house and freelancer stories as needed
  • Pitch content ideas to commerce and editorial leads
  • Assist in Allure commerce off-platform strategy and production
  • Write fully optimized commerce content with little top-editing required
  • Work on tentpole shopping holidays, including Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, After-Christmas, and more
  • Regularly analyze affiliate data and SEO trends, creating actionable reports to best inform commerce editorial strategy
  • Be a commerce production evangelist, identifying system optimizations and proactively finding process improvements
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Demonstrated ability to write and edit compelling commerce content, with 3+ years of commerce experience at a similar major publication
  • Ability to analyze performance across different verticals, product categories, retailers, and content types to optimize for revenue generation
  • Demonstrable expertise and understanding of SEO best practices
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills—must be able to consistently plan ahead while maintaining daily production of content
  • Ability to work with, and edit, freelance and in-house writers
  • Polished communication skills as this is an interdepartmental role with stakeholders across the company
  • Strong comprehension and utilization of purchasing data, consumer trends, and competitive analysis
  • Experience in managing product sourcing logistics at a digital property (either editorial or commerce)
  • A self-starter who relishes the opportunity to accelerate the growth of Conde Nast’s commerce business
