Condé Nast Traveler is Looking An Associate Commerce Editor

Condé Nast Traveler is seeking an Associate Commerce Editor with a strong voice and organizational skills to join the fast-growing commerce team and create smart, serviceable shopping stories for Traveler. This role requires an in-depth understanding of the e-commerce landscape, an interest in creating engaging-service driven content that drives Commerce KPIs, and experience writing about products in the luggage, apparel, beauty, or outdoor categories. The ideal candidate will be passionate about travel and shopping, and interested in sourcing the best deals on tried-and-true travel accessories, tracking new brands in the space, and weeding out the best travel and lifestyle products our readers will be excited to buy, pack, and use. They will have a strong background in service or product journalism and should be skilled at creating genuinely thoughtful, useful, and smart content that helps Traveler readers find the products that will improve their travels.

Responsibilities
  • Write and edit 7 to 10 pieces of commerce content each week, ensuring copy is clean, brand guidelines are met, and SEO and affiliate best practices are implemented
  • Assist in managing a long-term commerce editorial calendar to feature ongoing, SEO-driven, and seasonal shopping content
  • Assign out and edit in-house and freelancer stories as needed
  • Pitch content ideas to commerce and editorial leads
  • Write fully optimized commerce content with little top-editing required
  • Coordinate with SEO managers and commerce resources to make sure content is optimized for search
  • Work on tentpole shopping holidays, including Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and more
  • Coordinate with PR teams to source product for testing purposes
  • Be a commerce production evangelist, identifying system optimizations and proactively finding process improvements
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • 3 years experience writing and/or editing in a digital media environment, with experience in service journalism and product recommendations preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, self-directed work style, and polished communication skills
  • Ability to work with, and edit, freelance and in-house writers
  • Familiarity with affiliate link programs such as Skimlinks and Amazon is preferred
  • Experience in managing product sourcing logistics at a digital property (either editorial or commerce)
  • A self-starter who relishes the opportunity to accelerate the growth of Conde Nast’s commerce business

Architectural Digest (AD) is looking for a creative and analytical Commerce Editor to write, edit and optimize affiliate editorial content for its digital business. Core to the role is a commitment to excellence in design and storytelling. The Commerce editor will pitch, commission, write, and edit stories on a daily basis for AD’s digital verticals, including Clever and AD It Yourself. This role will cover the home category from every angle including furniture and decor, sleep and smart home tech, as well as travel. The ideal candidate has a proven ability to work independently, quickly, and remain organized and efficient. This role requires an in-depth understanding of the e-commerce landscape, an interest in creating engaging-service driven content that drives Commerce KPIs, and a passion for shopping and home decor.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Write and edit 6-9 pieces of shopping content each week, ensuring copy is clean, brand guidelines are met, and SEO and affiliate best practices are implemented
  • Work with a consistent pool of freelance writers and illustrators to create timely and relevant service-driven stories
  • Coordinate with SEO managers and commerce resources to make sure all content is optimized
  • Assist in managing a long-term commerce editorial calendar to feature ongoing, SEO, and seasonal shopping content
  • Coordinate product call-ins and reviews for editorial consideration
  • Lead AD’s sales and tentpole coverage, especially timed to shopping holidays such as Black Friday and Amazon Prime Day
  • Work with other AD stakholders to achieve editorial excellence throughout all platforms, including social, newsletter, and video
  • Pitch content and franchise ideas to editorial leads
Skills & Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience with a related brand(s) or media publisher
  • Impeccable editorial judgment, writing, and ability to capture AD’s voice to reach new and established audiences
  • Proven ability to work independently, quickly, and remain organized and efficient
  • A passion for design and home decor
  • Demonstrated mastery of SEO optimization and digital publishing best practices
  • Strong comprehension and utilization of purchasing data, consumer trends, and competitive analysis
  • Familiarity with affiliate link programs such as Skimlinks and Amazon
  • Ability to analyze performance across different verticals, product categories, retailers, and content types to optimize for revenue generation
