Group Nine is looking for a Senior Manager of Audience Development. In this role you will be responsible for leveraging our analytics to understand (and act on) audience interest, support Group Nine brands’ audience development teams with high-level strategy, and monitor performance across all social media channels. This is a full-time position that reports to the VP, Audience Development.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist all Group Nine brands (Thrillist, The Dodo, PopSugar, Seeker, NowThis) in achieving their social distribution goals throughout the year
  • Support all Group Nine brands and their audience development teams with high-level strategy & reporting
  • Keep tabs on all emerging platforms and help establish their best practices for Group Nine
  • Lead social strategy in regards to traffic back to websites
  • Manage a paid media budget and strategy for multiple brands
  • Oversee high-level newsletter strategy & spearhead subscriber growth
  • Provide monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for multiple brands, across all social media platforms
  • Spearhead any and all emerging platform best practices
  • Manage an audience development team


Success Will Look Like:

  • Providing data-driven insights for all social platforms, including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and Snapchat
  • Building comprehensive platform best practices for all major distribution platforms for Group Nine as a whole
  • Staying close with brand leaders and their audience development teams to monitor their topline social media performance
  • Thriving in a fast-paced, changing environment that requires multitasking, prioritizing, and implementing high priority initiatives
  • Ability to stay ahead of trends and adapt to a constantly changing digital landscape

    Must Haves:

    • 5+ years of experience in social media and online publishing
    • 2+ years of experience managing a team
    • Expertise in Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, and TikTok content management, reporting, and best practices
    • Experience with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Facebook Business Manager, platform analytics, etc) and ability to train up on new tools quickly
    • Ability to translate data into actionable content direction
    • Advanced social media best practices knowledge
    • Paid media expertise, especially paid Facebook
    • Newsletter growth experience
    • Familiarity with web traffic trends and environment

      Nice To Haves:

      • Experience with TikTok and Snapchat business managers
