The ideal candidate will be able to:

  • Pitch, write, report, research and update daily entertainment-focused commerce articles that are smart, serviceable, informative, and meet editorial standards
  • Use data, analytics, and expertise to brainstorm and guide content decisions
  • Collaborate with other commerce and digital writers, editors, and various members of the larger affiliate team
  • Keep up-to-date with what’s going on in the entertainment industry, including competitor research
  • Suggest new content areas to lean into while growing existing areas
  • Monitor Decider content wins and revenue – this includes significant streaming occasions and tentpole shopping events, such as Prime Day, Black Friday, etc.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 4+ years of entertainment, digital, and tech reporting experience with proficient writing skills

The New York Post is looking to increase event coverage, for both ticketed and digital streaming events. The Events Commerce Writer will write transactional-focused event coverage to be distributed across the New York Post Digital Network, including New York Post, Page Six, and Decider. This role requires someone who can write multiple articles per day as part of a fast-paced digital news desk, helping create content that allows the national New York Post audience learn about top events to attend and stream.

The journalist, who will work under the Commerce Editorial Director, will have responsibilities that include:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Writing daily articles about a variety of events, including sporting events, concerts, major comedy shows, Broadway, and more
  • Coordinating and collaborating with contacts in the affiliate marketing and public relations industries to make the strongest recommendations to the audience
  • Monitoring data and performance to guide content decisions and continually improve content
  • Producing clear and concise copy under deadlines
  • Collaborating with other commerce and digital editors, plus various members of the larger affiliate team

Candidates must have:

SEO Manager, Commerce

New York Post is seeking a Commerce SEO Manager to join the SEO team at The New York Post. This role will report into the Director of SEO and will collaborate closely with department stakeholders across the New York Post, Page Six and Decider.com to grow organic search traffic to shopping pages.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with editorial teams to provide on- and off-page optimization recommendations and develop keyword-targeted commerce content
  • Create SEO content strategies for both evergreen and timely content around shopping events and holidays
  • Monitor and track evergreen content and search rankings to identify optimization opportunities
  • Perform keyword research to find content gaps and emerging trends in the e-commerce space
  • Stay up-to-date on new industry trends and Google’s web standards, and translate them into workable solutions
  • Conduct regular training sessions and audits to maintain SEO best practices

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 4+ years of experience working in-house in organic search and/or editorial — Applicants with strong editorial experience in e-commerce who are seeking a career change to SEO will be considered
  • Passion for the latest shopping trends, content strategy and all things digital
  • Experience working in newsroom environment is a plus
  • Working knowledge of competitive SEO tools (SEMrush, Google Trends, Google Search Console, Google Analytics) is a plus
