A Safe Space to Binge on Magazines
With the latest dismissals, Teen Vogue—once hailed for its inclusive newsroom—no longer has a single Black voice shaping its stories. The silence is loud.

We’re also gearing up for our first Stylists Suite Zoom call in January 2026, with the release of the Big Fat Media Guide 2026 Edition. Let's have strong finish and a stronger start.
Layoffs are everywhere, and if you’ve been through one, you already know the punch-in-the-gut feeling that follows. I’ve been there more times than I ever care to admit, and it never stops sucking big balls. The mix of fear, betrayal and the sudden free fall? Completely human. Here are five simple shifts that helped me regain some control: reframing the story from loss to lessons learned, pouring into others when my own tank felt empty, and learning something new just to remind myself I still could, and—hardest of all—asking for help.
If you’re in that in-between space right now, please hear me: you are not alone, and you will find your footing again. Let’s walk it out together.
Loving on my Stylists Suite Members the week of November 17 cause we know that just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean that stories aren’t being told to unyielding relentlessly engaged audiences. Let’s get at them.
It's Darralynn Hutson, founder of Stylists Suite and we've made it to November 10th. All the editor intel, tips, and strategies you’ve been following? Now they’re curated, just for our subscribers.
