The New York Times is Looking an Experienced Reporter and Writer to Join a Team of Reporters in Covering the U.S. Midwest
The ideal candidate would have a deep interest in the Midwest and an understanding of political, economic, environmental and cultural issues that are playing out across the region.
The New York Times is looking for someone with extensive reporting experience on breaking news on tight deadlines, but also a versatile and skilled writer who can pull off strong deadline writing, larger think pieces and stylish features. We want someone who is a self-starter and craves getting out on the road, but also someone who thrives on collaborative work with a small team. We also are seeking someone who embraces a true range of stories and turnaround times and is eager to experiment with different forms of journalism.
This correspondent will be based in the Midwest and the location remains to be determined, but could likely be Minneapolis, Detroit or St. Louis.
Please upload your resume and links into one single PDF. Links should be of stories you have written with brief annotations on what they show about your experience and skills.
This position is represented by the NewsGuild of NY.
